It consists of eating plenty of vegetables, fruits, nuts and legumes, as well as moderate consumption of olive oil, fish and wine. It’s also low in processed foods and red meat.
Over 50 years of research studies have shown that people in the Mediterranean region lived longer and healthier lives. Studies have now shown that the Mediterranean diet can help increase life expectancy and decrease risk of diabetes, heart disease, dementia and certain forms of cancer.
Headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, Pangea Nutrition was launched by Christos Mantzoros MD, DSc, h.c. mult. PhD and Jason Paruthi, MD. The two doctors wanted to help people live healthier, longer and happier lives by providing evidence-based nutrition and education to help prevent health problems.
